Note This work was assigned the title of Cos Cob, Connecticut by Milch Galleries and shown under this name in 1928. Since the scene does not appear to be Cos Cob and is similar to many of Twachtman's pastels of Branchville, its title has been changed. The original title of the work is not known. It was perhaps once known as The Path across the Hills, a pastel shown in Twachtman's solo exhibition at the Wunderlich Galleries in New York in March 1891. |
